Florence, Italy

Medici Tavolo

CONTEXT

During my study abroad experience in Florence, Italy, I developed a restaurant concept within the historic Sant’Orsola complex, a site deeply tied to the city’s layered architectural and cultural history. The project was rooted in themes of historic preservation, Italy’s rich food culture, and the importance of fostering local community through shared spaces.

My concept reimagined the complex as a welcoming dining environment that honors its past while supporting contemporary use. Through thoughtful design, the restaurant seeks to preserve the character of the existing structure while creating a space that encourages gathering, connection, and appreciation of traditional Italian culinary heritage.
